How it works

A record you can actually rely on.

Input Ledger is built around seven things that matter when you need to know what actually happened.

01

Timestamped

Every entry is anchored in time.

When you record something in Input Ledger, it gets a timestamp. Not the time you remembered it, not the time you wrote it up — the time you recorded it. That timestamp is permanent and can't be edited. It's what makes a record a record.

Timestamps are applied automatically at the moment of entry. They're stored in UTC and displayed in your local time.

02

Categorised

Organised without the overhead.

Assign categories to your entries so you can find them later. Whether you're recording health appointments, work decisions, or home maintenance — categories keep your record navigable without requiring a complicated filing system.

Create your own categories or use defaults. Apply one or more categories per entry. Filter your record by category at any time.

03

Searchable

Find what you need, when you need it.

Full-text search across all your entries. Search by keyword, filter by category, or narrow by date range. When something matters enough to record, it should be easy to find.

Search works across entry titles, body text, and notes. Combine search with category filters and date ranges for precise retrieval.

04

Exportable

Your record belongs to you.

Export your entries whenever you need them — for a legal matter, a medical appointment, a professional review, or simply your own peace of mind. Your data is yours, in a format you can use.

Export to PDF or CSV. Filter before exporting to get exactly the records you need. Exports include timestamps, categories, and full entry text.

05

Private

What you record stays yours.

Input Ledger is a private record. Your entries are not shared, not analysed for advertising, and not visible to anyone but you. A record is only useful if you can trust it — and trust starts with privacy.

Entries are encrypted at rest. No third-party data sharing. No advertising. No profiling.

06

Reminders

A gentle nudge to keep your record current.

It's easy to mean to log something and then forget. Input Ledger can remind you quietly — every half hour if you like — so small moments don't slip away before you've had a chance to record them. You set the interval; the app does the rest.

Configurable reminder intervals, including every 30 minutes. Notifications are optional and fully under your control.

07

Daily Recap

A prompt at the end of the day to catch what you missed.

At a time you choose each evening, Input Ledger sends you a quiet notification — a daily recap. It's a moment to look back over the day and add anything you didn't get to record in the moment. Small things, late realisations, things you meant to log but didn't. The recap keeps your record complete without requiring you to be perfect throughout the day.

Set your preferred recap time once. The notification arrives each evening as a prompt to review and add. No pressure — just a reliable end-of-day check-in.
